Kite Beach is located on the southwest side of Bonaire, eleven kilometers southwest of the historic center of Kralendijk. To the south of Kite Beach is the dive spot Vista Blue, and to the north is Pink Beach. Kite Beach was originally called Atlantis Beach. However, after kite surfers discovered the location, it is now more commonly known as Kite Beach.
Kite Beach is a beautiful sandy beach located in a very scenic area.
Kite Beach is located at one of the most beautiful spots on Bonaire. To the west the azure Caribbean Sea beckons, while on the east lie the enchanting saliñas or salt pans of the boomerang-shaped Leeward Island. If you're not already mesmerized by the blue ocean water, you surely will be when you glance over the Bonairean salt lakes. Salt-sensitive algae there reveal themselves in the most incredible colors and shades; ranging from green, blue, purple, lilac, red, and orange! The beach at Kite Beach consists partly of fine white sand and partly of petrified coral. Scattered across the beach are also stones and bushes.
Kite Beach is a public beach.
If you plan to go diving at Bonaire, you must possess what is called a Nature Fee. If you're not diving but still entering the ocean for another water activity, you also need a Nature Fee. It's best to purchase the Nature Fee online from STINAPA-Bonaire. The funds generated from the sold Nature Fees are used to maintain and protect the Bonaire National Marine Park (BNMP).

Kite Beach is the kitesurfing hotspot of Bonaire. Most people who go kitesurfing in Bonaire are found here. On the beach, there are several trendy kitesurfing school buses where you can take lessons and rent kitesurfing equipment. Because you deal with an offshore northeast trade wind at Kite Beach it is safe to learn kitesurfing; you won’t be dangerously blown back onto the beach! You will not encounter many windsurfers at Kite Beach, as their 'place to be' is on the east side of the island at Sorobon Beach.
Kite Beach is the best spot on the island for kitesurfing.
From Kite Beach, divers can make a shore dive. Naturally, the stunning coral reef can also be explored through a boat dive. The ocean off Kite Beach is not completely free of currents. Because there are moderate to strong currents from time to time, the dive spot is only suitable for intermediate and advanced divers. The average depth is 20 meters with a maximum depth of 30 meters. The underwater visibility is approximately 20 meters. Divers must be aware of kitesurfers at this location! For your safety, use a buoy when surfacing!
With a bit of luck you might spot spotted eagle rays at the Kite Beach reef. These majestic marine predators patrol patiently over the flat sandy bottom, waiting for the right moment to strike. The diet of this ray species consists mainly of mollusks and crustaceans, which are eventually crushed between their flattened teeth.
